GOD LOVED THE WORLD SO THAT HE GAVE

God loved the world so that He gave His only Son the lost to save;
That all who would in Him believe should everlasting life receive.

Christ Jesus is the ground of faith, who was made flesh and suffered death;
All then who trust in Him alone are built on this chief cornerstone.

God would not have the sinner die; His Son with saving grace is nigh.
His Spirit in the Word declares how we in Christ are heaven's heirs.

"Too good to be true." How many times have you said that in response to an ad on TV or radio? Maybe the words of this old hymn strike you as being in that category: an offer that's simply too good to believe. But no, this isn't like the deal offered by a shady used car salesman; it's a promise from our Almighty God, put forth in His Holy Scripture. The gospel of John, chapter 3, verse 16 states this promise plainly and simply:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

It's that simple. You can believe it. God's saving grace rains down on us without ceasing. Please don't use an umbrella of scepticism or unbelief to avoid it. Cling to God's promise and join the company of His children - the heirs of heaven.

We forgiven sinners at Bethel Lutheran Church will be happy for you to join us as we hear the Holy Word of our Lord and Savior, receive His grace, and worship Him in return. Come and experience the joy with us!
