Program of Requirements

This draft Program of Requirements (POR) outlines the facility requirements for Bethel Lutheran Church for the next 30+ years. It is the result of several months of investigation and work by the Building Committee in consultation with the congregation in open forums, and provides a basis for developing Bethel's new property on Hwy 158. As the years pass and our space needs evolve, changes will undoubtedly be made to these facility requirements, but it is a starting point.

The long-term space needs are listed in table form in Tab G - Summary of Requested Facilities. The following tab, H, indicates the Building Committee's recommended facilities that might be included in a Phase 1 project based on budget limitations.

As indicated, this Program is a draft and includes the recommendations of the Building Committee. We welcome you to review the document and record your comments for discussion. Our intention is to present this draft to the congregation within the next month and incorporate any changes that are desired by the voters. Upon approval by the congregation, the POR will be finalized.

At the same time, this draft is being utilized by the five architecture firms that we have invited to interview for the design work of the master plan and the phase one facilities. The final, approved POR will be provided to the winning architecture firm.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
Peter Schmid
Chairman, Building Committee
